Parham, Ontario
Parham, Ontario is a town located along Highway 38, an hour north of Kingston, Ontario and two hours west of Canada’s Capital, Ottawa, Ontario. It is a member of the Central Frontenac Township which involves other small towns like Godfrey, Sharbot Lake, Verona, and Hartington. Like its surrounding counterparts, Parham’s population is roughly 250, which classifies it as one of the smallest towns in the northern area.
The only school in Parham is Hinchinbrooke Public School. Besides the public school, Parham has two general stores: “Joe and Marg’s” and “Good’s Store.” These two stores are convenient to those not wanting to drive the hour to the Wal-Mart, which is located in Kingston. Three churches are also located in Parham, one Anglican, one Free Methodist, and one United. There is also a post office.
The fire hall is located beside the Parham Fair Grounds. The fair grounds host the annual Parham Agricultural Fair. Not only does it involve 4-H members showing cattle and various horses, but it includes a demolition derby, where cars are decorated and sponsored by various businesses.
